Weekend Warfront: Foray of Fate

Well, it’s a holiday weekend here in the US so they turned on the Weekend Warfront a little early.

So, time for an extra-long 6-man weekend with Foray of Fate!

Stumbling upon an unusual network of tunnels beneath Praag, a small band of Order finds themselves within the slumbering walls of The Eternal Citadel.  Followed by members of Destruction, these two forces clash within Tchar’zanek’s throne room… but that is not all that trespasses through this labyrinth of twisted reality.

Foray of Fate – Weekend Event (November 24th – 29th, 2010)

The Eternal Citadel scenario is open for all characters of all levels!  Work closely with your party to defeat the party of your enemy!  Guard an ally marked by the Winds of Change!

  • Basic Reward – Hartshorne Tincture

  • Advanced Reward – Vanquisher’s Boon

  • Elite Reward – Medal of Perserverance/Brawn/Discipline/Accuracy/Insight

The Live Event Herald for Order is named Kadius Kridt and is located at (26776, 30868) by the Flight Master in Altdorf.  The Live Event Herald for Destruction is named Kralf Hexenkrieger and is located at (29455, 32368) by the Flight Master in the Inevitable City.

General Information

Foray of Fate started on November 24th and will last until November 29th.  The task list is the same regardless of Tier/Realm.

While we get the above bonus as always this weekend, this is a fast Scenario so you don’t get tons of Renown for each one.  However, you can do a lot of them in a short time-span, so it can add up.  More importantly, you can earn Insignias really fast!

I love this map.  And not just because it’s a punter’s paradise.  ~giggle~

It’s great because it’s all about fighting.  No running anything around.  No hiding away from the fight.  You fight.  You die.  Period.

Crazy concept, right?

The only thing to really remember here is that when the Winds of Change blow, your spawn-in location changes.  Keep that in mind so you don’t get separated.

Weekend Event Tasks

  • Participate in The Eternal Citadel Scenario 15 times
  • Defeat 50 enemy players within The Eternal Citadel Scenario
  • Defeat 10 enemy players marked by the Winds of Change
  • Win The Eternal Citadel Scenario with 500 points 5 times
  • Secret Task!!! – Spotted the Eshin Gutter Runner within The Eternal Citadel Scenario
  • Complete all Foray of Fate tasks

Pretty straightforward tasks for a pretty straightforward Scenario.  Load in, group up, kill.  Especially the marked person.  That’s how we do it.  😉

I encourage people to pug this one.  I know, sounds odd in a 6v6 since pre-mades will be q’ing like mad, but I’m serious.  The DPS/Healing discrepancy in a 6v6 is way different than a 12v12 and pugs actually can stand a chance, even without a healer, as long as you’re not stupid.  That being said: don’t be stupid (unless you’re Destruction on Iron Rock and I’m in your Scenario.  Then be stupid.  Be very stupid.  I need Insignias.)

    Be prepared to die A LOT if your are rdps as there is absolutely no room to kite in there. Its fun is a premade, but the only upside to solo queing as rdps is you will get smashed so fast that the sc is over in 5 minutes…

      3 mins …. All the times I have played the EC, I have been RDPS, it was awful experience. This time I am working on healer. Who knows it may not be cruel and heartless to me. Bah, it will be full of premades, ready to crush my spirit.

    I’ve heard the vanquisher boon doesn’t give extra captain emblems. Hope they get that fixed soon.

    really awful sc design for pugs and range class…

    i would love to see something like grovod cavern or logrin at a 6v6

      I actually pug it a lot and enjoy it. Even when we end up getting smashed, it’s over quickly. The speed of the Scenario when you utterly lose helps to ease the sting as compared to something like Temple of Isha where it takes forever whether winning or losing most of the time.

      Something the size of Grovod or Logrin’s is actually too big for a decent 6v6 in my opinion as you could easily spend the majority of the Scenario avoiding the other side and getting points from objectives instead of actually fighting. To me, a 6v6 Scenario should be primarily about killing the other team and only have an objective as a secondary thing.

      Although I really agree that this quick and it helps with the captains emblem grind… I still think about trying to enjoy the game. On my tank its pretty fun but once i log into my BW its like rolling to a lottery, once you step on a premade pretty much the end of it.

      oh yeah those BG who punts across the map… just because of that it cut my kitting/survivability 😦

      Logrin is prolly a horrible option for 6v6 but this sc is pretty cool imo, it really gets to the guarding and attacking of points.
