Weekend Warfront: Blood Basin

November 5, 2010

Soooo… after a couple weeks of Live Event action, it’s time for our regularly scheduled Weekend Warfront!

With a twist, it would seem.

Due to the Live Event ending early, they’ve put the Elite Reward for the Event into the Elite slot here.  So if you didn’t do the Event or didn’t get your reward, here’s your chance!

Oh, and did I mention there’s a 50% bonus to Renown and Experience this weekend as well?

Have fun!

The blackened environs of Black Fire Pass are home to one of the bloodiest battles yet seen.  The clash of steel on steel does little to drown out the screams of the wounded as Order and Destruction forces struggle for dominance on the blood-mired snow.

Blood Basin – Weekend Event (November 5th – 8th, 2010)

The Black Fire Basin scenario is open again for characters of all levels!  This weekend only join in the joy of slaughter as enemy forces clash in this legendary local!

  • Basic Reward – Hartshorne Tincture

  • Advanced Reward – Vanquisher’s Boon

  • Elite Reward – Malleus Daemonarium

The Live Event Herald for Order is named Kadius Kridt and is located at (26776, 30868) by the Flight Master in Altdorf.  The Live Event Herald for Destruction is named Kralf Hexenkrieger and is located at (29455, 32368) by the Flight Master in the Inevitable City.

General Information

Blood Basin started on November 5th and will last until November 8th.  The task list is the same regardless of Tier/Realm.

There is a bonus to Experience and Renown while in this Scenario, making it the place to be this weekend!  Especially considering the extra 50% bonus in general.  Expect this Scenario to be the Renown Farm this weekend.

Note: I have pulled some amazing renown gains out of the Weekend Warfront scenarios (ie: well over 10k for multiple scenarios), so it’s definitely worth it to queue for this scenario simply for that 10% bonus.  Add in the 100% bonus already on the servers this weekend and you do not want to miss out on this!

Pretty straightforward map.  I mean, sure, it’s got places to run around on the sides, but I’ve never really seen people bother to do that much unless they were truly being camped.  Which happens.  A lot.  If you have the time (and why wouldn’t you in the heat of battle), pan your camera up to look straight down into the ice below the spike.  😉

Weekend Event Tasks

  • Eliminate enemy Realm Greenskins/Dwarfs (50)
  • Eliminate enemy Realm servants of Chaos/the Empire (50)
  • Eliminate enemy Realm Dark Elves/High Elves (50)
  • Complete all Blood Basin tasks

Time to kill people.

Order Title: Grisly Knight

Destruction Title: Lord of Gore

I may well try and do this on 2 characters.

I wasn’t able to get the 50 Greenskin kills, despite having been queued for the scenario at all times I was online over the past four days. Bummer. After getting screwed out of not getting the Live Event item from before, I wasn’t able to get it this time either.

To be honest though, with regard to the RR bonus, it’s not all that exciting to me any more. Knowing now that we’ll be able to greatly increase our RR gains on a permanent basis from 1-80 very soon, my motivation to grind out ranks now is pretty low.

That’s just odd. I didn’t even try to work on the WW specifically and ended up finishing it in one evening. I’m not really sure how people that truly attempted to do it didn’t at all. Definitely something to provide feedback on though. Maybe they can tweak the rules around granting credit for kills a bit to make it easier to understand and do for all Classes.

I really have no idea how the kills were counted. It wasn’t specifically killing blows and it wasn’t just general party kills either. I certainly killed (as part of the group) more than 50 Greenskins.

I had the same problems with the kills. For me it was chaos, I queued for the sz over the whole weekend and finished greenskin and dark elfes on the first evening, but chaos was though. I think it was the last sz on sunday evening, it was even a sz where they camped us at our spawn point 0xx:500 score, but I got credit for killing 6 chaos and so got the reward …
I had similar problems with the live event task … I dealt more than 5 killing blows to Magi (and definitly participated in killing more) but never got the credit for killing one … yes I wore a mask all the time.
