Weekend Warfront: Blood Basin

October 1, 2010

It’s Friday and that means it’s time for another Weekend Warfront!

This weekend, we’re back in Black Fire Basin!  Always a good time since it’s all about killing people in the face.

(Shameless Plug:  Make sure to check back at the beginning of next week for my Skaven-themed WWGD post!)Have fun!

The blackened environs of Black Fire Pass are home to one of the bloodiest battles yet seen.  The clash of steel on steel does little to drown out the screams of the wounded as Order and Destruction forces struggle for dominance on the blood-mired snow.

Blood Basin – Weekend Event (October 1st – 4th, 2010)

The Black Fire Basin scenario is open again for characters of all levels!  This weekend only join in the joy of slaughter as enemy forces clash in this legendary local!

  • Basic Reward – Hartshorne Tincture

  • Advanced Reward – Vanquisher’s Boon

  • Elite Reward – Medal of Perserverance/Brawn/Discipline/Accuracy/Insight

(See this post for more information on the Medals.)

The Live Event Herald for Order is named Kadius Kridt and is located at (26776, 30868) by the Flight Master in Altdorf.  The Live Event Herald for Destruction is named Kralf Hexenkrieger and is located at (29455, 32368) by the Flight Master in the Inevitable City.

General Information

Blood Basin started on October 1st and will last until October 4th.  The task list is the same regardless of Tier/Realm.

There is a bonus to Experience and Renown while in this Scenario, making it the place to be this weekend!

Note: I have pulled some amazing renown gains out of the Weekend Warfront scenarios (ie: well over 10k for multiple scenarios), so it’s definitely worth it to queue for this scenario simply for that 10% bonus.  Add in the 100% bonus already on the servers this weekend and you do not want to miss out on this!

Pretty straightforward map.  I mean, sure, it’s got places to run around on the sides, but I’ve never really seen people bother to do that much unless they were truly being camped.  Which happens.  A lot.  If you have the time (and why wouldn’t you in the heat of battle), pan your camera up to look straight down into the ice below the spike.  😉

Note:  It figures that this one would come up this weekend.  I have the pics for the beast in the ice…but they’re on my desktop and I’m traveling. 😦 I should be able to load them up on Sunday though, so check back then if you’ve never seen it!

Weekend Event Tasks

  • Eliminate enemy Realm Greenskins/Dwarfs (50)
  • Eliminate enemy Realm servants of Chaos/the Empire (50)
  • Eliminate enemy Realm Dark Elves/High Elves (50)
  • Complete all Blood Basin tasks

Sooo…yeah…

Time to kill people.

Order Title: Grisly Knight

Destruction Title: Lord of Gore

Enjoy!

Hmm I STILL can’t decide if I like this SC or not.

It’s not a bad scenario, if you’re not getting spanked all the time. I think I did 10 last night and pretty much got a load of kills in the first one, then the next 9 were brutal one sided affairs. I was brutalised.

Yeah, it’s rarely balanced in my experience. It’s either a crush one way or the other. Occasionally, it’s even and goes back and forth in a fairly exciting manner. The flag seems pointless 90% of the time to me though. :/
