Weekend Warfront: Talabec Massacre

June 25, 2010

This weekend heralds a return to Talabec Dam.

While it’s a complete repeat with no visible changes, it’s at least a fun map with decent tasks, so…

Here we go again!

The hastily constructed Talabec Dam is both a triumph of villager engineering and a potential disaster in the making, a disaster which forces of Destruction are bent on exploiting to their advantage.  Now Order and Destruction converge upon the single blocked finger of the Talabec in a struggle for the lives of innocent citizens.

Talabec Massacre – Weekend Warfront (June 25th – 28th, 2010)

The Talabec Dam scenario is open again for characters of all levels!  Intercept and deliver Bombs to gain points for your side, slaughter enemy realm players and claim a flawless victory in order to receive a unique title!

  • Basic Reward – Twisting Tentacle Pie

  • Advanced Reward – Level-appropriate Molotov potion

  • Elite Reward – Vanquisher’s Boon – Buff that awards extra Emblems from Scenarios based on the score.

The Live Event Herald for Order is named Kadius Kridt and is located at (26776, 30868) by the Flight Master in Altdorf.  The Live Event Herald for Destruction is named Kralf Hexenkrieger and is located at (29455, 32368) by the Flight Master in the Inevitable City.

General Information

Talabec Massacre started on June 25th and will last until June 28th.  The task list is the same regardless of Tier/Realm.

There is a bonus to Experience and Renown while in this Scenario, making it the place to be this weekend!

Note: I have pulled some amazing renown gains out of the Weekend Warfront scenarios (ie: well over 10k for multiple scenarios), so it’s definitely worth it to queue for this scenario simply for that 10% bonus.

There don’t seem to be any rule changes this weekend, so it’s business as usual:  killing and blowing stuff up!

For the love of all that’s holy, run the bomb to the right drop-off point please.  Order takes it to the Dam (bottom of map), Destruction takes it to the Windmill (top of map).  IT’S NOT THAT HARD TO FIGURE OUT!!! 🙂

Oh, and feel free to pad your kill count with all the livestock.  Good times, good times.

Weekend Event Tasks

  • Successfully deliver 10 Bombs during the Talabec Dam scenario
  • Intercept 5 Bomb Bearers
  • Defeat 100 enemy realm players
  • Participate in the Talabec Dam scenario 15 times
  • Win a Talabec Dam scenario with 500 points
  • Complete all Talabec Massacre tasks

Running the bomb could be the tricky part for some classes.  I’d expect you’d need a pre-made to pull it off as a squishy most of the time.  Good luck!

Title:  Talabec Survivor

If they changed the title, be sure to let me know.  They haven’t in the past though.

Have fun!

      It’s better than a low-level heal potion.

Until they let us throw low-level heal potions at other players!

I have been messing around a lot in the endless free trial (destro this time) and having a really good time. A lot of the things that frustrated the group I played with and me seem to have been fixed. We are considering re-subbing and playing through as destro this time. So my question to you is do these changes carry through to higher levels? Do pre made groups still utterly rule scenarios? Is open RVR pretty constant? How is the apprentice system and does it allow for pvp? Thanks in advance if you find time to answer my questions.
