Weekend Warfront: Bane of Peace

June 11, 2010

This weekend, the battle rages in the Dragon’s Bane scenario.

Let’s see what’s in store for us!

Enjoy!

The Dark Elf march through Dragonwake has not gone unchallenged.  High Elves and their Order allies have rallied around key locations, determined to protect ancient ruins and dragon nesting sites.

Bane of Peace – Weekend Warfront (June 11th – 14th, 2010)

The Dragon’s Bane scenario is open again for characters of all levels!  Hold as many objectives as you can while continuing to advance.  Charge forth, slaughter your foes and secure the area for your realm!

  • Basic Reward – Level-appropriate Healing potion

  • Advanced Reward – Level-appropriate Molotov potion

  • Elite Reward – Vanquisher’s Boon – Buff that awards extra Emblems from Scenarios based on the score.

The Live Event Herald for Order is named Kadius Kridt and is located at (26776, 30868) by the Flight Master in Altdorf.  The Live Event Herald for Destruction is named Kralf Hexenkrieger and is located at (29455, 32368) by the Flight Master in the Inevitable City.

General Information

Bane of Peace started on June 11th and will continue through June 14th.  The task list is the same regardless of Tier/Realm.

There is a bonus to Experience and Renown while in this Scenario, making it the place to be this weekend!

Note: I have pulled some amazing renown gains out of the Weekend Warfront scenarios (ie: well over 10k for multiple scenarios), so it’s definitely worth it to queue for this scenario simply for that 10% bonus.

This map is fairly straightforward, but has some interesting mechanics.  The flags are proximity captures and once you own an Objective, you can teleport there from your spawn point via a quest NPC.  If the opposing Realm owns an Objective, it’s time to summon a Dragon. 🙂 Grab the flag near your spawn and carry it to the Objective.  Click your Realm’s banner and use the distraction to your advantage.

Weekend Event Tasks

  • Capture and hold the Summoning Tower throughout the remainder of a Dragon’s Bane scenario
  • Capture and hold the Academy throughout the remainder of a Dragon’s Bane scenario
  • Capture and hold the Commorancy throughout the remainder of a Dragon’s Bane scenario
  • Control all three objectives when the Dragon’s Bane scenario ends
  • Participate in the Dragon’s Bane scenario 10 times
  • Complete all Bane of Peace tasks

Looks like they’re still tweaking the task list.  To be honest, it’s been at an acceptable place the last couple times (well, outside putting PvE in a scenario that is).  The main issues seem to be the bugs surrounding completion coupled with the fact that the rewards are very lackluster.  If they could give us some decently desirable rewards at all three levels and clear up some of the bugs, I think we’d see a lot more people not only doing the scenario, but trying to complete some of the tasks as well.

As for the tasks themselves, they appear to still be a bit buggy or at the very least unclear in communicating their requirements.  So expect to have to do it a few times just to get them to trigger as completed.  That being said, one of my Alliance members almost had the whole thing done in about an hour of play.  So cross your fingers that your runs are bug-free.  😉

For the first three tasks, it is definitely a capture it first and hold it the remainder of the scenario to get the credit. I was able to complete 2/3 as we took a point and then held it the whole scenario.

It seems you do need to capture it 1st.. but you only need to have control of it at the end of sc.

Well, I’ve seen it flip back and forth and I’ve owned it at the end and not gotten credit. The only times I’ve gotten credit are when it was either uncontrolled, we took it and held it for duration or it was uncontrolled, Destro took it, then we took it back and held it for duration. It seems multiple flips kills the credit.

Need to be one the capture the point to get credit.. Just had one where we fought in the center the whole time, never lost the center point.. But I didnt get credit because it was capped before I got to it.

Not always true. I’ve been the one to cap the point and still gotten no credit at the end.

Were you on the point when the sc ended?

Destruction title is Orderbane, or so my friend tells me. Would make sense with the Order title being what it is.
