Weekend Warfront – Blood Basin

April 23, 2010

It’s Friday again!

That means it’s…wow…uhhh…ok…

Time for Black Fire Basin again?

At least this one had the easiest Task List.  Rejoice in the little things, right?

Have fun!

The blackened environs of Black Fire Pass are home to one of the bloodiest battles yet seen.  The clash of steel on steel does little to drown out the screams of the wounded as Order and Destruction forces struggle for dominance on the blood-mired snow.

Blood Basin – Weekend Event (April 23rd – 26th, 2010)

The Black Fire Basin scenario is open again for characters of all levels!  This weekend only join in the joy of slaughter as enemy forces clash in this legendary local!

  • Basic Reward – Level-appropriate Healing potion

  • Advanced Reward – Level-appropriate Molotov potion

  • Elite Reward – Vanquisher’s Boon – Buff that awards extra Emblems from Scenarios based on the score.

The Live Event Herald for Order is named Kadius Kridt and is located at (26776, 30868) by the Flight Master in Altdorf.  The Live Event Herald for Destruction is named Kralf Hexenkrieger and is located at (29455, 32368) by the Flight Master in the Inevitable City.

General Information

Blood Basin started on April 23rd and will last until April 26th.  The task list is the same regardless of Tier/Realm.

There is a bonus to Experience and Renown while in this Scenario, making it the place to be this weekend!

Note: I have pulled some amazing renown gains out of the Weekend Warfront scenarios (ie: well over 10k for multiple scenarios), so it’s definitely worth it to queue for this scenario simply for that 10% bonus.  Add in the 100% bonus already on the servers this weekend and you do not want to miss out on this!

Pretty straightforward map.  I mean, sure, it’s got places to run around on the sides, but I’ve never really seen people bother to do that much unless they were truly being camped.  Which happens.  A lot.  If you have the time (and why wouldn’t you in the heat of battle), pan your camera up to look straight down into the ice below the spike.  😉

Weekend Event Tasks

  • Eliminate enemy Realm Greenskins/Dwarfs (50)
  • Eliminate enemy Realm servants of Chaos/the Empire (50)
  • Eliminate enemy Realm Dark Elves/High Elves (50)
  • Complete all Blood Basin tasks

I’m trying to make sense of this showing up again a month after it appeared the first time, and without anything changed.  I can only assume they adjusted their regularly scheduled program for people to truly benefit from the 100% bonus to renown/xp/inf that’s currently on Live.  That would then support returning a Warfront that was focused solely on the obliteration of your opponent since that would help people capitalize on the bonus.

Dunno though.

Order Title: Grisly Knight

Destruction Title: Lord of Gore

Let me know if they at least changed the titles…

Completed it this morning … nothing. So the same titles as the last time. For those who didn’t finish it before they get a redux to try again.

I agree with your theory … that with the 100% renown bonus a kill-kill-kill scenario is a good option for people to really benefit from the buff. A Thunder Valley or other capture the flag scenario would not have worked as well.

So another stronger side camps other side till time runs out…fun?

IDK I feel like I need a bit more substance in my epic quest of killing things. Lemme see BO are fun but tend to separate everything too much…maybe a king of the hill kinda thing, ya know like Khaines embrace but you hold the center and have to run back after every “explosion”.

I miss that SC, and would love to see that one returned, it always seemed relatively even even when you were loosing idk…I just want some more meat with my potatoes. Some more point to my killing, ya dig?

I’m sorry, but “stronger side camps other side” is all scenarios. I have yet to see one where this doesn’t happen at times.

That being said, it doesn’t always happen. Not much you can do about it except learn to work with your Realm.

Ok you got me, guess there is always that dilema of “stronger side camps other side” (sscos for short??).

That being said a more goal oriented SC that doesn’t reward for camping might be interesting to see? I would love to see plenty of kills but not make it your only goal, idk just my 2cents 😀
