Weekend Warfront: Twisted Tactics
This weekend’s warfront lies in the Chaos Wastes.
The Twisting Tower has returned!!!
True to form, it is a twisted mess of a map…pay attention or suffer a quick defeat.
Let’s see what’s in store for us!
The discovery of a Tower in the Chaos Wastes has prompted great speculation by both Order and Destruction leaders. For while ownership of the Tower would provide a much needed advantage to either side, the very troops needed to secure that distant location will likely fall prey to the powers of mutation before long.
Twisted Tactics – Weekend Warfront (April 16th – 19th, 2010)
The Twisting Tower scenario is open again for characters of all levels! Take the Atrium and Loft for your realm! Unlock the mutating powers of the Oculus of Change and drive fear into the hearts of your enemies with that beloved culinary oddity the Tentacle Pie.
- Basic Reward – Level-appropriate Healing potion
- Advanced Reward – Level-appropriate Molotov potion
- Elite Reward – Vanquisher’s Boon – Buff that awards extra Emblems from Scenarios based on the score.
The Live Event Herald for Order is named Kadius Kridt and is located at (26776, 30868) by the Flight Master in Altdorf. The Live Event Herald for Destruction is named Kralf Hexenkrieger and is located at (29455, 32368) by the Flight Master in the Inevitable City.
Twisted Tactics started on April 16th and will last until April 19th. The task list is the same regardless of Tier/Realm.
There is a bonus to Experience and Renown while in this Scenario, making it the place to be this weekend!
Note: I have pulled some amazing renown gains out of the Weekend Warfront scenarios (ie: well over 10k for multiple scenarios), so it’s definitely worth it to queue for this scenario simply for that 10% bonus.
Be prepared for a very twisted weekend. True to it’s name, this scenario is inside a very tall tower. You fight up and down the entire thing… It is VERY easy to get separated from your group in here. Hold hands if you have to, as you’re at a huge disadvantage when separated in here more so than in other scenarios simply because of the size of this place.
There are two jumping-off points from your spawn. One takes you to the top of the tower, the other to the bottom. Make sure everyone takes the same one and make sure that if you die and respawn, you take the one that will get you back to your group the quickest.
While using the Oculus of Change is a task, it’s also not necessarily recommended. lol. You’ll see why…
Finally, keep your eye out for Pie! Both on the ground to pick up as well as being thrown at your face. hehe. Remember, killing someone with a Pie toss nets you the “Pie Assassin” title while being killed by one gets you the “Death by Pie” title. So toss away!
Weekend Event Tasks
- Successfully use the Oculus of Change
- Capture the Loft 25 times
- Capture the Atrium 25 times
- Lob a Tentacle Pie at 8 enemy realm players
- Complete all Twisted Tactics tasks
While the numbers for capturing look high, past experience tells me there will be a lot of re-capturing going on. The ability to jump to the top and bottom from the respawn makes it easy to ninja objectives. Not to mention the utter confusion using the Oculus creates. lol. Expect a lot of RRRRAAAAGGGEEEE!!11!!! every time someone does so. Except from me. I’ll be the one giggling maniacally in the corner. 😉
Update: Ok, apparently I forgot these are click-to-capture objectives. /sigh That means the 25 for each point is solo, not group. Which sucks. Mightily. There’s still a lot of ninja’ing and recapping going on, but you have to fight with your group to get credit, which is dumb. Yeah, I said it. Dumb. More on that later.
Title: Twisted Commander
Bonus Titles: Pie Assassin – for killing someone with a Pie toss; Death by Pie – for dieing from a Pie toss
