The Wild Hunt – Item Rewards

September 4, 2009

So, along with lots of Achievements and a handful of interesting titles comes an assortment of items.  Some, like the Charms for the new Live Event Slot on your character, are useful in combat while others are just for the fun of having them.

Let’s take a look at what Mythic has doled out with this most recent event, shall we?

While the PvE armor set pieces for your Tier do drop in this dungeon off the Boss fights, I’ll be looking at the newly introduced items instead.   Keep in mind though, it’s a great place to get that armor set.

First up, the AdvancedInfluence reward is the Stag Skull Trophy.  Rather cool-looking when equipped, I must say.

Trophy on

While I love neat Trophy items, my bank and inventory are full of so many it’s not even funny anymore.  While I loved that they gave us a crafting bag to free up our inventory space, they really need to look at adding a bag for all the reward items they give out for things.  From Tome unlock items to Live Event rewards to the new Anniversary items, those of us that have been playing for a while and have earned them all are finding ourselves out of room.  Even if it was via a quest or was a craftable/earnable item from something, we need more storage for odds-and-ends like this.

Next up is the Elite Influence reward, the Bleeding Hart Charm.  There are different stats for different classes, of course, but this is the only class I finished it on.  :p

While I don’t think it visually appears on your character, it is a nice little bonus item for your stats.  At least, while it lasts.  Supposedly, the amount of decay time on this Elite Reward Live Event Slot type of item is the amount of time until the next Live Event will occur.

Now, let’s hop into the Hunter’s Vale!  Right away in the Vale, you’ll find drop loot crafting items.  Yay!  They come in two forms and drop off just about everything.

Talisman Makers will find they can use the Wildwood Spiral.  It’s a tradeable crafting item that is used to make the Animal Horn.

That’s right!  It’s a craftable pocket item!  Hopefully we see more such things in the future now that they’ve “broken the seal” as it were.  hehe

Apothecary’s will want to look for Essence of the Wild.  It’s a tradeable crafting item used to make Feral Potion.

This potion is a must-have for anyone that likes to Pig-out occasionally…   😉

Upon killing the Spirit of Kurnous, you can loot the Fleet Stag Mantle.

While it has no stats, it does look nice when worn.

It also has a great clickable ability from your toolbar.  It transforms you into a Stag and gives you run speed equivalent to a mount while you are transformed!

In Tier 4, if you complete the timed PQ, you will receive even more items!  Of note are the rewards in the Gold Bags.  In most cases, the person that gets the first place Gold Bag will receive the Magnificent Hart Charm.  This is a short-duration Live Event Slot item with much better stats than the Elite Influence reward.

The second place Gold Bag usually contains a purple weapon described as “of the Great Hunt” with stats just under the Lost Vale weapons.  Not bad for a Live Event!

Back outside, the Curse of Kurnous PQ offers a nice reward in its Gold Bag:  the Horn of the Vale Wolf.

Vale Wolf

This Pocket Item calls forth a vanity-pet Vale Wolf when used.  Personally, I think it’s much cooler than the Refer-a-Friend pet, at least for Order.  hehe

If I’m missing something, let me know.  I’ll put up a diffent post with all the new 1-year Anniversary celebration items as soon as I have them all.  hehe.  Until then…

Have fun!

Does anyone know which quest achievements if any are repeatable for influence toward the awards?

None. You have to do any 8 tasks to get the influence to receive the Elite reward.

The purple bags of the HV public quest had some nice jewelry drops as well. I would also put them at a level below LV. Granted I don’t have any LV items yet but I’m pretty sure that’s an accurate statement.

This dropped for my level 40 WP.

    Hunter’s Symbol of Endurance
    +19 Strength
    +16 Willpower
    +19 Wounds
    +70 Spiritual Resistance
    +70 Elemental Resistance
    +70 Corporeal Resistance

    Anyway to post a screenshot?

If I’d grabbed some screenshots before the event was over, I’d definitely have posted. Now, it’s kind of a moot point. hehe.
