We now interrupt your regularly scheduled programming…
…to bring you an epic example of Nerd Rage decimating Elitist Exploiters. I give you :
If you didn’t catch this during the short time it was up on the WHA Forums, here you go. It is, of course, now deleted as it spells out a few exploits and is major troll bait.
First off, /tiphat to the person that took a few weeks out of their life to utterly expose these people. Yes, I know it’s a bit extreme and they could have been doing lots of other things with their time, but stop and think about it for a second.
This is what happens when you use Internet Anonymity as an excuse to be complete and utter pricks to someone. Eventually, you piss them off so much that they’re willing to trade their free time to bring you down in front of the whole InterWebz. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened sooner, to be honest.
The fact that he took the time to get screenshots, video footage and record their vent conversations (seriously, am I the only one that disables that option when I join a vent channel?) shows just how much they pissed him off. I actually loved that he put in not just proof of their stupidity, but also put in small bits of the entertainment provided to him while he was doing this whole thing. Seriously, these people talk way too much about how they cheat in front of people they barely know. Their stupidity is only surpassed by their egos and the two combined brought them to this.
Second, if you think people aren’t actually cross-realming in an RvR game and getting away with it daily, you’re delusional. I accept them as a fact of the game. I do, however, separate them into two classifications. The ones that are doing it to create turmoil and cause the other side to lose and the ones that are just doing it for the fun of trying out the other side and having fun. The second group do exist and are probably the most common ones as account information gets shared/traded all the time. I have no issue with those. As for the first group, well, we used to love those back in Pirates of the Burning Sea. We made it a little mini-game to figure out exactly who the spies were and we were very good at it. They’re usually easy to pick out of the crowd as their egos get in the way of their ability to be competent spies and they talk trash to their Realm all the time or talk about how “great” certain people/groups are on the other side. Proper handling of those spies led to utter hilarity and undefended Ports in that game. Spies should be an accepted part of the game as a player as Developers will never completely stop them.
Third, and finally, Mythic, WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!? Do I need to come down there and be the guy that, once you’re done coming up with ideas, sits there and goes over the worst case scenarios for you so you don’t end up in situations like this? Because I’ll do it, I’m very good at it. I already called the “let’s not stop ZD so we can get free lootz on Fort defense” issue with tokens, but to be fair, I missed the “level 14 toons shadowing everyone in the Tier 4 RvR lakes and joining warbands to leech free tokens off loot rolls and zone captures” one. I know you’re all proud of your Master Loot option, but for Grungni’s sake, disable it in certain areas or something. This is just ridiculous.
Ok, back to my write-up of the Elf PQ Crawl which I’m doing while listening to the hilarity of their Fortress and Keep attempts. Too funny.
