Battle at the Gates – Return to the Gates of Ekrund Weekend Event
As part of the 1-year Anniversary celebration, Mythic has set up a series of throwback Weekend Events for the month of September.
Coming up second in the trio of events is the epic, multi-level kill-fest called Gates of Ekrund.

Battle at the Gates- Weekend Event (September 17th – 21st)
Things have degenerated at the Gates of Ekrund. As both sides struggle for dominance of the crucial battlefield, unable to establish control, veterans of the Ekrund conflict return to the site to once again take up arms for the cause. The heroes of Order and the champions of Destruction have but one goal: take control of the gates of Ekrund, once and for all!
The Gates of Ekrund scenario is open again, for high-level characters! Capture the Gate Switch and hold it through the end of the Scenario. Demoralize your foes by defeating 200 enemy players! Crush your enemies: Win the Scenario with 500 points! And players who complete all five Ekrund tasks gain a new title: The Gatekeeper!
Battle at the Gates Task List
- Capture the Ekrund Gate Switch 10 times
- Kill 200 enemy realm players in the Gates of Ekrund Scenario
- Capture and hold the Ekrund Gate Switch throughout the rest of the scenario
- Win the Gates of Ekrund Scenario with 500 points
- Complete the Gates of Ekrund Scenario 20 times
- Complete all Battle at the Gates Tasks (Grants the Title “Gatekeeper”)
That’s it folks! Nice, short list like last time, but with some things on it that could take all weekend… Looks like I’ll be queueing it up non-stop…again. hehe.
If this is anything like last weekend’s event, the Achievement list should be pretty straightforward. However, if anyone discovers anything outside the norm, let me know!

Again, the Achievement section lists this category as “Gates of Ekrund weekend events”, so we’re looking at this showing up at least one more time. :p

Yup just like last time no pops.
I recommend not being in Altdorf or IC. Pops seem to come much faster when in an actual pairing.
Didn’t pop once for me all weekend.
Lots of other scenarios did.
Didn’t pop for anyone else in my guild in Volkmar.
Took me most the weekend to get is finished. Waited 3 hours on Sunday with no Pop. I was only able to do it on one toon. Didn’t even try on my Alts.
Well, there were times on Iron Rock that it didn’t pop for anyone because people were doing the regular scenarios to push the campaign. Not sure how you fix that issue though, outside making it the only scenario available and having it affect all three pairings.
Yeah, I never do these on my Alts to be honest. My main is the only one I care about for most events.
Starting the Return to the Gates a day early helped. Hopefully they will do the same with this weekend’s event.
